all in a days work

Beginning to get the hang of this!
Looking at Ballet Rambert's piece 'Eternal Light' as inspiration for a colour scheme and some influence on shapes, although I mainly want to focus on capturing the fluidity of movement and creating images that visibly reflect the body shape or draped cloth.
Am now realising that it will be very difficult to create an animation as a final outcome without a great deal of practice, but am looking forward to exploring potentials with wire- making these flat images into physical objects.

Alternative 'Costume'

Giving it a go....sooo much harder than it looks!

Colour ♥

GREEN-RED-YELLOW-PINK
Quick experiments with the colour filters to see how powerful the colours are. I have to admit I'm quite impressed with them, I didn't think they would work this well, and it has also worked much better using a black pinhole, it has given a much stronger line. Now got to come up with some ideas for what I'm going to draw!

Last of the Snow

The view from my Manchester work space.
The last image I managed to get of the Big Freeze before it melted away, when the streets were as silent as the snow.

A Shadow of the Dream

Just found out the I may have the opportunity to be the designer on an amateur production of Chicago!!
By far one of my favourite musicals, it's a production, film and storyline that I adore and an absolute dream to have this chance come up. I'm so excited, and really, really hope this turns into something brilliant to boost my folio and prove to the world what I'm capable of.

Friday Frollicks

Took the day off today for a much needed luncheon and some light shopping with one of my close girlfriends, became obsessed with the bright orange daisy-type flower that was the table's centre piece, and thoroughly inspired by The Olde Sweet Shoppe next door!
It was like walking onto part of the set for Mel Stuart's 1970's Willy Wonka. Gorgeous dark wooden cases lined the entire store with every colour, every sweet and every chocolate under the sun sitting on the shelves, and school children milling about whilst mums tried to cut down the sugar intake!
Decided that I would love to use that old-fashioned authentic sweet shop as inspiration for my Final Major Project, just thinking about the possibilities gets me all excited! I'm thinking huge sets and candy furnishing and candy costumes AND the ideas keep on coming

Big Freeze

The snow is finally thawing and the grass is starting to poke through once more, I even managed to turn the stat down on the studio heating today! A steady day, spent making a dent in these sketchbooks, sent off my photography order and now we sit and wait.
Will post some photo's later if I'm proud enough of the days work
